**3rd Shift Manufacturing Tech/ Operator - Food / Beverage, 3rd shift, Vista, CA**

**Summary:** Operators are in charge of blending granulized coffee beans in a timely and quality manner by managing to use all personal skills and functions of an industrial size blender. As a mixing process operator, you will spend 60% of your time moving around batches / coffee beans, 30% of your time punching numbers into the machines, performing roasting / grinding operations, and 10% of your time performing documentation.

**Schedule / Shift:** 3rd shift Mon.-Fri., 8:00pm-4:30am (with weekends). Weekend work usually one day on the weekend.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities:**


+ **Mixing:**

+ Keeping inventory and handling of whole roasted coffee beans

+ Calculation of batch weights with expected grinding loss

+ Set-up and operate an industrial grinder

+ Grind coffee according to grind specifications B or C grind

+ Grind coffee into super sacs by percentage specified on work order

+ Completing regular quality checks by taking Ro-Tap samples

+ Adjustment of grinder settings to achieve consistent grinds and meet specifications

+ Operator must fill out production tickets accordingly

+ Operator shall fill out and turn in daily grind logs and all finished work orders at end of each shift

+ At end of each day operator must store everything in proper places and sweep all of Grinding department

+ Maintenance of a safe, clean and well-kept work area at all times

+ Must follow GMPs and Food Safety rules at all times in order to produce safe in-process products
+ **Roasting**

+ Keeping inventory and handling green coffee beans

+ Calculation batch weights with expected roasting loss

+ Set-up and operation of industrial roaster

+ Transport of green and roasted beans with forklift

+ Completing regular quality checks by taking Agtron readings

+ Adjustment of roast times and to achieve consistent roast profiles and meet specifications

+ Operators ensure every batch of green beans is weighed out correctly in order to provide consistent roasted coffee beans.

+ Maintenance of a safe, clean and well-kept work area at all times.

+ Roasting operator must log gas meter reading before and after each shift when all gas valves are closed and turned off.

+ Operator must fill out work orders, transfer forms and ship tickets for all green beans received from shipping

+ Keep accurate records of all green weight being used, for inventory purposes.

+ All roast times and weights must be recorded in roast logs for every batch and an Agtron must be taken for every other batch roasted

+ Operator shall fill out and turn in daily roast logs and all finished work orders at end of each shift. At end of each day operator must store everything in proper places and sweep all of roasting department.
+ **Blending**

+ Keeping inventory and handling of granulized coffee beans

+ Set-up and operate an industrial blender

+ Mix coffee in a timely manner to achieve proper de-gassing time for extraction

+ Completing regular quality checks by taking Ro-Tap samples

+ Fill blue barrels with mixed coffee according to extraction schedule

+ Operator must fill out work orders, transfer forms and ship tickets for all tea products received from shipping

+ Operator shall fill out and turn in daily mixing logs and all finished work orders at end of each shift

+ At end of each day operator must store everything in proper places and sweep all of Mixing department

+ Maintenance of a safe, clean and well-kept work area at all times

+ Must follow GMPs and food safety rules at all times in order to produce safe in-process products.
**Job Requirements:**


+ High School Diploma
+ At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
+ Forklift license. Must have forklift experience
+ Good mathematical skills
+ Must be able to lift more than 50lbs
+ Must be able to work in noisy and hot environment
+ Good organizational skills
+ Good time management
