3rd Shift Production Supervisor

Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers by performing the following duties.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Establish employee safety as a #1 goal. Responsible to ensure safety and health of employees on assigned 3rd shift.

2. Leads Production shift enabling Area Leaders to lead and manage their work areas to success fully meet goals and leads operators to meet and exceed goals encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.

3. Provides regular, consistent and fair feedback to Individuals and teams based on measurables to encourage good performance and continuous improvements. Handles annual performance appraisals.

4. Manages production by coordinating department schedules, providing supervision and establishing priorities to achieve production

5. Ensures consistent interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.

6. Ensures consistent interpretation and application of work instructions and procedures (e.g. PMs, Control Plans) to meet safety, quality and efficiency goals.

7. Ensure that teams are established and all are implementing lean principles, techniques, and methodologies. Techniques and methodologies include Cellular Manufacturing, KanBan Pull Systems, and Kaizen focused events.

8. Identifies training needs for associates and Areas Leaders & initiates appropriate action to resolve issues

9. Assists in managing production department by achieving the goals set forth in the QOS measurables: Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Production Efficiency, Scrap and Downtime.

10. Provides the necessary team members to participate in all APQP, 8D, FMEA and Control Plan meetings.

11. Maintains production environment organized manner with a focus on cleanliness & housekeeping.

12. Obtain guidance from Molding Technician prior to all process changes.

13. Obtain permission from Molding Technician prior to all process parameter changes.

14. Takes necessary action to fulfill an effective and positive working environment.


1. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the production department.

2. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

3. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the production department.

+ Associates Degree and/or minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience (preferably in an automotive industrial environment).

+ Must be self sufficient using Microsoft and e-time applications

+ Proven ability to interact with Team Members at all position levels

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, lean manufacturing and application of math concepts


Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, procedures and/or work instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of management, associates, customers, and public.


Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

1. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; move around the plant; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.

2. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

1. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

2. The noise level in the production area is usually loud.

3. Temperatures vary between room temperature and 120 in the production area.
