Our client, is the 6th largest financial services holding company in the United States, is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist for a 12 month contract. The position is located in Minneapolis, MN. It will start out remote- but must be local for equipment and to eventually come in to the office.

Pay Rate: $20.00/Hour


GENERAL SUMMARY:


U.S. Bancorp Asset Management manages multiple billions in assets in money market funds and other short-term fixed income and liquidity management investment strategies. This position within U.S. Bancorp Asset Management will support the Securities Lending group that provides securities lending services to clients.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


As an integral part of the Security Lending Administration team, duties will include calculating and applying client credit limits, submitting client fund trades to the Transfer Agent, reconciling client holdings against security lending system, custody system and Transfer Agent, preparing and distributing broker credit amounts and term trades information, balancing client investment accounts, and calculating and distributing obligations to brokers.


Other team duties may include distributing client earnings, reconciling data using multiple systems, implementing system fixes and enhancements and preparing corporate data reports.


Processes transactions, reconciles and maintains various accounts and ledgers. Transactions processed and maintained may include; accounts payable, journal vouchers, vendor invoices, expense reimbursements, ledgers, statements, billings, and/or other accounting documents. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transactions processed. Conducts research on discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections or adjustments. Responds to and resolves inquiries. Posts data and/or checks and verifies data. Runs and prepares routine financial reports and analyses.


Daily work involves pulling data from multiple sources for purposes of reconciliations via Excel. A working understanding of various Excel formulas ie Vlookup is needed. Understanding VBA is helpful, but not required. Must be able to independently preform calculations and problem solve. Be able to read/analyze data to answer questions. Work with large amounts of data. Detailed data entry as needed. Problem solving.


SPECIFICATIONS:

This is a general description which covers all levels/grades of the job. Level/grade assignments are determined by the attached leveling guidelines. Minimum qualifications are outlined below:

Minimum Qualifications:

College degree required (accounting, finance, investments preferred)

Microsoft Office user with a proficiency in Excel

Strong analytical and organizational abilities

Self directed with a willingness to learn

Solid attention to detail


Additional Preferred Skills:

Previous mutual fund experience

3 5 years Work Experience in Accounting, Finance or Investments
