**Aircraft Certification Engineer 1** direct hire remote


Kelly Engineering Resources has partnered with a growing aerospace manufacturer that is expanding their certification team. As a result, they are adding a Certification Engineer to their team. In this role, you will bring a least 2 years working knowledge of FAA guidance for commercial aircraft airworthiness as you develop certification and test data required for the installation of electromechanical technology onto commercial aircraft. You will have oversight from the lead Aircraft Certification Engineer


**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**


The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


+ Responsible for development of certification documents, including System Safety Assessments, Project Specific Certification Plans, Master Data Lists and Compliance Reports for STC projects.

+ Creation of on-aircraft and lab (e.g. DO-160 qualification) test plans for compliance to airworthiness requirements including functional, EMI and flight performance requirements.

+ Development of the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) for STC projects including evaluations per FAA guidance to determine required inspections (such as EWIS ICA) and resultant creation of those inspections.

+ Actively assists the certification engineering team in activities with the regulatory approval office or external certification vendors including data submittal/management and STC application creation.

+ Support the certification engineering team in various other activities with the local FAA offices including foreign validations of FAA type certifications, PMA applications and FAA audits.

+ Supports certification engineering team with coordination of FAA activities on STC projects including DER/DAR and/or ODA UM resources to support piece-part and installation conformities as well as article and aircraft test witnessing activities, as required, for the duration of an FAA STC project.


**Qualifications of the Successful Aircraft Certification Engineer**


+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a Certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic and actively enrolled in a Bachelor program for engineering

+ Master Degree a plus

+ Strong technical writing techniques and knowledge with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat

+ 1+ years experience in Aerospace and working knowledge of FAA 14 CFR regulations for airworthiness

+ FAA part 145 or equivalent Repair Station Operator (MRO) a plus

+ Experience with electromechanical aircraft systems such as communications or navigation a plus

+ Up to 10% travel maybe required
