This position involves supporting laboratory scientists who perform quantitative and qualitative analyses using multiple analytical technologies including, but not limited to, liquid chromatography (LC), mass spectrometry (MS), gas chromatography (GC), and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The main responsibilities for this position include sample preparation, standard preparation, mobile phase preparation, instrument maintenance and operation, and some data analysis.


This position would also be required to contribute to maintaining lab operations. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


+ Distributing samples to scientists across the team (preparing samples, labeling samples, delivering samples and documentation)

+ Maintaining lab supplies

+ Organizing lab and disposing of waste


The skills required for this position include: wet chemistry skills with regards to sample, standard and mobile phase preparation, working with analytical balances, ability to operate multiple instruments, and excellent record keeping skills. This position requires good lab skills, time management skills, attention to detail, and progressive development toward independence.


Candidates must be able to work safely, independently, and multi-task on analytical projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills are required. Candidates must be able to work with and take direction from multiple scientists.


The position requires an associates degree or B.S. in chemistry or a related field or equivalent experience in separation science and wet chemistry.


The candidate will follow all Dow safety processes and rules. They will be on-boarded and take Diamond Learning Safety modules and NEST Training. They will be trained for lab operations using Laboratory Procedures. They will attend in team safety meetings and lab audits.
