Description **Exciting Temporary to Hire Opportunity in Clearwater, Florida!**

**Job Title: Accounting Assistant**

**Overview:**

Performs the accounting functions and provides administrative support to assigned departmental functions. Maintains accurate and timely reconciliations and other records for the assigned vendors. Provides training and guidance to fellow team members and provides support to the management.

**Responsibilities:**

Completes check-run for assigned vendors in a timely and accurate manner while securing a minimum of 98% of available early pay discounts and taking all receivable deductions within established guidelines.

Meets all assigned vendor statement reconciliation goal dates and provide concise & accurate reconciliation action plans.

Establishes and maintains good working relationships with internal and external contacts.

Provides reports and documents to internal and external customers as needed and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Identifies processes and procedures that could be improved to increase efficiency and/or eliminate redundancy, unnecessary or ineffective activities. Provides training and support to vendor accounting team.

Assists with special projects.

Performs additional duties as assigned

**Qualifications:**

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Educational: High School/G.E.D. Approximately 3 - 4 years experience in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting Systems

Works independently with appropriate level of supervision.

Uses collaborative thinking with assistance from manager or other Analysts.

Senior level position Possesses strong organizational, time management, and good prioritization skills in driving tasks to completion.

Quickly determines source of problem and identifies information needed to solve problem.

Diagnoses problems efficiently and makes sound, timely decisions.

Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the business areas and the ability to understand business issues within their particular role.

Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Able to quickly learn new systems and technology.

Able to troubleshoot system-related problems.

Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.

Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Able to express ideas clearly and convey necessary information.

Builds solid and effective working relationship with others.

Displays ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.

Actively takes part and provides relative contribution in all team tasks to ensure the final objective is met.

Listens to internal/external partners, identifies, meets and is sensitive and responsive to their needs.

Willingly addresses issues highlighted by vendor partners in an effort to provide creative solutions.

Able to maintain a positive attitude in the face of constructive criticism, rejection or failure.

Stays in tune with changing needs of departments.

HIGH level of "self starting" thinking required for analysis, evaluation, creating, reasoning, and drawing conclusions/solutions.

HIGH complexity of mental process to achieve in the role in order to come to solutions.

Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
