Kelly is seeking an experienced and organized creative Art Museum professional to work at The Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX.

**Work Location:** Meadows Museum- Dallas, TX

**Schedule-** Monday- Friday 8:30am- 5pm (1hr lunch)

**Job Summary:**

This position will work in collaboration with the associate director/curator of exhibitions of the Museum and will coordinate the museums program of temporary exhibitions. Working across all departments in the museum, this position oversees aspects of the Meadows Museums exhibitions program, which includes the presentation of up to 5 temporary exhibitions annually. The position coordinates complex logistics for multiple simultaneous and overlapping projects and requires a broad variety of experience, flexibility, and demonstrable hands-on abilities with a range of tasks including project management.

**Essential Function:**

+ Leads exhibition planning teams for, and coordination of, the installation (and deinstallation) of special exhibitions, permanent collection rotations, and individual works of art. Develops production schedules, estimating time and cost involved; oversees general procedures; and coordinates schedules and details across museum departments.

+ Collaborates with Associate Director, collections manager, curators, and other internal and external stakeholders to plan the layout, design, construction and installation of temporary and permanent exhibits. Coordinates the fabrication and installation of exhibitions including graphics, signage, and labels; wall construction and painting; lighting; and display fixtures and mounts while ensuring the highest quality result within available resources.

+ Plans, prioritizes, and hires personnel resources for special exhibitions and permanent collection installations including art handlers, fabricators, graphic designers, photographers, and others as needed. Coordinates work schedules with Facilities and Security departments; supervises contractors; assesses resource needs and determines adjustments as required; and evaluates contractors work. Ensures adherence to safe workplace practices and procedures and to the safe handling of art.

+ Works with collections manager to ensure contracts and insurance for loans, exhibitions, and special projects are completed in coordination with the offices of Legal Affairs and Risk Management. Ensures all necessary legal forms are completed properly, signed by authorized individuals, and filed according to SMU policy.

+ Obtains quotes for services and bids out exhibition-related projects. Assists associate director/curator of exhibitions in the development of special project budgets.


**Education:** Bachelors Degree- BA in Art History, preferred

**Work Experience** : Minimum of three years tenure managing exhibitions, art handling and basic registration is preferred. Project Management experience is required.

**Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** : Fluency in Spanish is preferred

**Software Skills:** MS Office
