Description Kelly Services is seeking an **Assay Development Lab Technician** to test **Biological Assays** for a **DIRECT HIRE** position in **Charlotte, NC** within a **Discovery Lab** ! This is a 100% bench lab role. The Assay Development Lab Tech will work across the Discovery Lab and the Food Science Lab primarily supporting clinical departments and clinical lab analysis.

**The Ideal Candidate Will Have:**


+ **Knowledge and experience in running analysis with: HPLC’s, GC/MS, Automated lab analyzers**
+ **Knowledge with PCr methods and use of Luminex analyzers a plus**
+ **Assay development across a variety of biochemical targets**
+ **Experience in running biological assays and techniques**
+ **Experience in extraction methods**
+ **Candidates with experience in a Clinical, Nutripharmaceutical or Food Science environment are highly preferred but not required.**
+ **Minimum of 3 - 5 years laboratory experience in a research facility and/or hospital**
+ **Experience working in a clinical or food science environment a plus**
**Job Responsibilities:**


+ Must have the ability to use standard lab equipment as well as specialized equipment like **HPLC’s, GC/MS** and specialized diagnostic equipment measuring a variety of metabolic assays and blood makers.
+ Responsible for the development and validation of assays in preparation for upcoming clinical studies and laboratory processing.
+ Perform required assay validation experiments to support initial tests
+ Independently pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures or techniques in accordance with company approved laboratory procedures
+ Accurately perform and read test results and notify Laboratory Manager of deviations
+ Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner
+ Maintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures
+ Perform other duties as assigned
**Job Requirements:**


+ BS or MS in a related field.
+ Preferred areas of study: Clinical, Food Science, Nutripharma, BioChemistry, Chemistry
+ Minimum of 3 - 5 experience in a research lab, hospital lab or major analytical lab
+ Previous experience developing chemical and biological assays **REQUIRED**
