Assembler I

Performs a variety of bench and structural assembly, boxing and bagging operations of parts, components, and assemblies for the company-s snowplow and Ice Control products lines and accessories. Assembly may be performed on a paced conveyor or non-paced environment. Sets up and operates machinery and equipment such as assembly and packaging, unloading parts from a powered conveyor, bagging machines, strapper, and assorted power and hand tools. Actively participates in team and total quality commitment activities. Performs designated maintenance functions; assumes ownership for quality of all products. Participates in training and 6-S activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Ownership of the quality of your product

- Performs to JI-s (Job Instructions) as trained

- Maintaining safe working conditions and 6-S

- Compliance with regulations, procedures, policies

- Scrap reduction and control

- Meeting production plan and standards (produce to takt)

- Cost control

- Teamwork and participation

- Timely preventive maintenance

- Reporting assembly and packaging problems or unusual workplace events to Business Unit lead person or supervisor

- Use a variety of material handling equipment

- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or GED.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Vision; near, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception

- Able to stand and walk.

- Able to reach above shoulders and outward.

- Able to bend, squat and crawl.

- Able to lift and carry. (up to 50 pounds)

- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment: eye wear, hearing protection, respirator and steeled toes boots with metatarsals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Temperatures; Low 40 - 60; high temperature over 90.

- Noise level > 85 db
