Kelly is seeking an Assistant Director to work with our client, a large global non-profit organization, on a direct hire basis. The Assistant Director will assist with operational oversight of one of the organizations key facilities based in Seattle.

Specifically, the Assistant Director will:

+ Handle staffing responsibilities such as supervising, hiring, transferring, promoting, disciplining, training, evaluating, and terminating

+ Assist with fiscal activities such as budgeting, grant administration, reporting, purchasing, and auditing

+ Present program services to the community and publicize accomplishments

+ Attend educational workshops and seminars, review professional publications, and establish professional networks

+ Model appropriate team behavior and promote team spirit

+ Prepare and maintain site-specific policies, procedures, forms, and controls

+ Represent the organization in contacts with federal, state, and local government organizations, other current and potential funding sources, other human services and advocacy organizations, community groups, and the public

+ Review program operations for cost effectiveness, efficiency, and goal achievement


+ Masters degree in social work, psychology, public administration, business, or related field preferred

+ At least one year of experience in residential/sheltering services for adults

+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local residential facility statutes and regulations

+ Knowledge of laws and regulations governing personnel administration and government funding

+ 3+ years of related supervisory experience

+ Experience working with Veterans and the Veterans Administration preferred

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner

+ General accounting and human resources knowledge

+ Strong analytical and research skills
