Assistant Press Operators

Bohemia, New York

$14-18/hr (depending on experience)

Duration: Temp-Hire

Shift: Mon-Fri 3PM-11:30PM - 2nd Shift

Full-Time hours

Kelly Services is seeking motivated Assistant Press Operators who have excellent experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Our client focuses is the leading supplier of clinical labeling design, production and management services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. These positions will be long term assignments in the Bohemia, New York area.

The responsibilities and requirements for the position are:

- Experience working in an ISO or cGMP environment preferred

- Assist in all pre and post press job operations as directed by the Lead operator.

- Visually inspects labels for defects and run samples

- Responsible for post-production equipment cleaning.

- Assist supervisor/manager with decisions on quality when not clearly within defined parameters.

- Responsible for product segregation to avoid cross contamination.

- Maintain the manufacturing warehouse in a clean and organized manner insuring that we follow F.I.F.O. inventory control.

- Adhere to SOP's, procedures and work instructions when operating all manufacturing equipment or when handling chemicals.

- Perform other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience and/or training is preferred.

- Must have experience with machine operations and following standard operating procedures

- Must have the ability to operate fork truck and electric jack truck.

- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

- Must have strong mathematical skills (fractions. ratios, rulers and decimals) and computer skills

- Must have good color perception and the ability to pay close attention to detail.

- Must be able to work well with others and in a high pressure environment.

- Must have good problem solving skills and communication skills

- Must have a proactive and creative approach to projects.
