The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences (MCBS) is an energetic and growing department with seven new tenure-track faculty hires in the past five years. We also interact with three Departments within the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA), and the state's Agricultural Experiment Station.

MCBS offers degrees at the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels. Faculty additionally participate in university-wide interdisciplinary doctoral programs. Undergraduate programs focus on preparing students for careers in the life sciences, including advanced training in graduate or professional programs. Summary of Position

The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences (MCBS), College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA) at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a full-time (9-month) tenure track Assistant Professor position of Cell Therapy and Regenerative Biology starting Fall 2020.

This search gives priority to expert cellular systems biology scientists with novel mechanistic insight into development, disease, tissue regeneration and/or cell therapeutics. The employ of organoid and/or 3-D tissue systems is additionally valued, especially as applied to neural, cancer, hematopoietic or endocrine systems.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential to develop a high-impact, nationally recognized and externally funded research program, mentor undergraduates, graduate student and postdoctoral researchers, provide vibrant, high-quality instruction to the undergraduate and graduate programs, and provide meaningful service at departmental, college, university and national levels.

Opportunities also exist to establish productive interactions with UNH Centers of Excellence in Biomedical Bioengineering and in Bioinformatics, and with faculty pursuing cell and molecular biology research in the college, and university-wide. Graduate student training opportunities are provided via MCBS graduate programs in Biochemistry, Molecular & Evolutionary Systems Biology, Microbiology and Genetics. Teaching opportunities include the instruction and development of introductory courses in the candidate's discipline, and graduate courses in the candidate's specialty.

Recruited faculty will also benefit from UNH-Durham's recently advanced University Instrumentation Center (https://www.unh.edu/research/support-units/uic), Bioinformatics Center (https://hcgs.unh.edu/Bioinformatics) and Cell & Molecular Phenotyping Cores. In addition, MCBS, COLSA, UNH and UNH's NIH-sponsored COBRE Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Integrated Biomedical and Bioengineering Research (https://www.unh.edu/research/cibbr) are each strongly relevant disciplines committed to career development.

Review of applications will begin on January 15, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled. We anticipate a start date of August 2020.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD or MD degree, with demonstrated expert accomplishments in their related pursuits. This includes a strong publication record, and established ability to productively interact in immediate and regional research & academic areas. Experience with grant submissions and teaching are also advantageous.
