Description and Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: This position supports the WCG Data Analytics and Insights Solutions Team through the creation and enhancement of products and solutions by defining and building insights and intelligence solutions for WCG clients, internal and external.  Specifically, this role is responsible for the development of products related to, but not limited to, clinical trial performance, protocol design, trial predictability, site intelligence solutions and consulting engagements. This position supports the development and oversight of WCGs data analytics and insights products and owns most of the reporting, synthesizing, content preparation and delivery derived from these insights.

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Life Sciences or Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline from a recognized University or College; or the equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience to perform the job.
  • Advanced degree desired, but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working within the clinical research field with an understanding including but not limited to study design, investigator profiles, site profiles, clinical operations, clinical trial predictive modeling, the study intelligence market landscape
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing large data sets and the ability to effectively translate business requirements into technical/analytical solutions.
  • 3+ years of progressive relevant work experience in clinical development with progressing experience with data analytics, market research, and/or data mining in developing feasibility and clinical trial development strategies.
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing large data sets, applying a variety of statistical techniques such as regression, discriminant analysis, cluster analysis, and Bayesian Theory.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in clinical development with progressing experience with data analytics and/or data mining in developing feasibility and clinical trial development strategies.
  • Advanced experience, understanding, and demonstrated experience mining, manipulating, and presenting of complex scientific data as it relates to clinical research.
  • Exposure to project management team environment required. 
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills required. 
  • Ability to work with flexibility and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, D3.js, GGplot, etc. preferred
  • Knowledge of financial management concepts. 
  • Excellent problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to utilize technology and tools. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow for client communication.
  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills. Must be able to positively influence teams to achieve goals. 
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Drive the discovery of the information hidden in vast amounts of data (open source, licensed and proprietary) and help us make smarter decisions to deliver excellent services and products.
  • Manage and lead data and analytics projects, resources, technologies, and information to support client and Company for project/service solutions.
  • Ensure the departmental role in maintaining established deadlines and service standards for clinical data activities. 
  • Subject matter expert in the development of clinical trial data services and technologies that use the WCG Knowledgebase as its foundation.
  • Provide clear direction to the team in establishing priorities, and successfully meeting customer and company requirements. Supports team members developing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting operational data in support of strategy and planning. 
  • Drive team in the development of reports and dashboards for business units, internal and external clients.
  • Support the data-driven activities related to site identification, competitive landscape, enrollment modeling and customized analytics projects, as assigned, based on customer strategy.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify and define requirements and objectives for product and services development initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
  • Consistent and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
