The Associate HR Business Partner plays a key part in enabling the growth and development of our HR Organization. The Associate HR Business Partner works closely with HR Business Partners, HR Leadership, and our Global Operations organizations supporting HR programs and processes in a variety of areas including Covid-19 Program Management, HR Project Management, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Training and HR Operations.


In this position, you will apply a variety of methods to ensure you provide critical support to the HRBP team - understanding the strengths, opportunities, and overall health of the manufacturing businesses. You will provide support to HR and the business in support of employee lifecycle processes such as hiring, terminations, movement, job changes, rewards, reporting and stretch assignments as needed. You will be responsible for supporting managers and employees on HR programs, processes, policies and tools to enable the execution of HR initiatives and projects.


The Associate HR Business partner will be required to follow all policies and procedures provided by the company and will comply with its training not limited to confidentiality and the handling of personally identifiable information.


The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in an environment where adherence to policies and procedures is required. They exhibit sound judgment, exceptional interpersonal skills and can elicit information delicately from people. Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations including federal, state, and local laws is a plus.


This position is FT temporary and is at will. Continued employment may be dependent on the volume of work.


Essential Functions


+ Perform Covid portal management activities, including conducting tracing interviews in a professional manner, serving as a liaison between employees and Medical Affairs committee to guide on self-quarantine protocols, and maintaining ongoing communication with impacted employees

+ Be the primary contact for first line managers for general questions & issues around policy/practices, HR programs/initiatives including guidance on performance management and on navigating the how to of Cepheids programs and policies.

+ Run and interpret reports for follow through with business leaders to ensure timely completion to talent processes (performance management, development planning, associate engagement and organizational and talent assessments).

+ Proactively assess team to help drive first line manager effectiveness, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions to improve workforce capabilities and lead the development, rollout, and facilitation of employee training where needed.

+ Partner with Talent Acquisition team and coordinate inputs from hiring managers, agencies, recruiters, program managers and HRBPs in support of our extensive global expansion efforts. Provide support related to on-boarding and off-boarding of employees, including conducting new employee onboarding and exit interviews and partner closely with 3rd party employment agencies and/or Talent Advisors as it relates to our contingent workforce.

+ Share ideas on continuous process improvements, key takeaways across the team, and support initiatives, in close partnership with the HR teams.

Qualifications


+ Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or a related field with 2+ years of related work experience

+ SHRM-CP is a plus

+ Experience with HR metrics and data to story tell and provide decision support

+ Proven capability of working with partners to develop, implement and audit HR programs, initiatives, systems, policies, and procedures

+ Logical problem-solving skills; looks beyond immediate problems to consider root causes and addresses them.

+ Proven track record of calmly, confidently, and confidentially engaging with management and employee relations to address opportunities and needs, as appropriate

+ Strong result-orientation and problem-solving skills to ensure optimal employee experience

+ Intermediate proficiency with Workday, Excel and/or other data visualization tools preferred
