**Associate Scientist - Assay Development, San Diego, CA**



This is a great opportunity to work for one of top pharmaceutical clients in San Diego! The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge in manual and automated IHC / ISH assay development and experience in multiplex IHC / ISH detection. Candidates with digital image analysis are highly encouraged to apply.




**Length of Assignment** : 6 months (Possible extension)



**Work Schedule/Shift:** Monday-Friday, 1st Shift



**Primary responsibilities include:**




+ Designing and optimizing singleplex and multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH) techniques and a combination of protein (IHC) and gene detection assays.

+ Experience in digital image analysis is a plus.



**General Duties:**




+ Troubleshoot staining problems

+ Communicate with scientists, histologists and pathologist

+ Share responsibilities with lab members in maintaining lab equipment and supply inventory

+ Present project updates at the team meetings.



**Job Requirements:**




+ Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) degree in Life Science.

+ Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience is required. Industry experience is a plus.

+ Experience in digital image analysis is a plus!

+ Strong written and oral communication skills are critical, including experience in contributing to writing SOPs.

+ The candidate will need to work well in a team oriented environment and have strong interpersonal skills.

+ Computer skills are required and the candidate should be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentation software.
