**Associate Scientist/Associate Engineer**

Long term contract (potential to convert to permanent)


**Role:**

The Associate Scientist/Associate Engineer will be part of the Technical Development and Manufacturing team and will be responsible for helping to run in-process characterization of our engineered iPSC-derived immune cells and benchmarking their phenotypic, molecular, metabolic, and functional profiles against T cells, NK cells, and myeloid cells.


The candidate will interact with other functional groups: iPSC Biology, AD/QC, Immuno-oncology to develop the next generation of iPSC-derived clinical candidates. The candidate is expected to spend approximately 100% of their time working in the laboratory and performing data analysis.


**Responsibilities:**



+ Passion for innovation and drug development; experienced cell biologist preferably with immunology background.

+ Decisive, proactive and organized

+ High scientific integrity, committed to ethics and scientific rigor

+ Excellent documentation/eLN practices with knowledge of providing information appropriate for technical reports.


**Requirements:**


+ Strong cell based-assay proficiency relevant to cell biology and/or immunology, covering both phenotypic characterization (gene expression, surface and intracellular protein expression, epigenetics)

+ Ability to design, plan, and independently perform functional characterizations: cell metabolism, cytokine release, cell cytotoxicity, cell proliferation and activation, cell exhaustion and persistence in vitro.

+ Experience with flow cytometry techniques, flow cytometry analysis, and multicolor flow cytometry is required.


**Qualifications:**



+ BS with 4-6 years, or 2-4 years for MS of experience; research track record in either Biotech/Pharma or academia with cell biology, immunology or immuno-oncology experience, preferred

+ Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and comfortable working under fixed timelines is required

+ Expertise in cell-based assays is highly desirable, particularly knowledge of immune cell-based assays and knowledge and proven experience with flow cytometry and data acquisition and analysis
