**Job Description:**

The client has an immediate need for an Associate Engineer/Scientist to support the development and commercialization of current and future environmental products.

The company is a technology development company wholly owned by Triad Growth Partners in Greensboro, NC. The client is devoted to:

Identifying specific market opportunities.

Developing and licensing relevant technologies that address the identified markets.

Leveraging government and commercial contract research funding for proof-of-concept.

Building the plan and expert team capable of delivering the product and/or service.

Providing capital to nurture early stage opportunities and execute the commercialization plan.

Ensuring an exit plan is identified and executed with motivated and well coached stakeholders.

**Essential Responsibilities & Duties**

This individual will be an Associate Scientist/Engineer in the Product Development division of the client. They will be responsible for conducting laboratory and/or field-based activities with direction of Project Lead. It is anticipated that the individual would transition to more independent activities with minimum direction from Project Lead within 6 months to 1 year. The individual must exemplify commitment to technical excellence and will collaborate with Project Lead to balance client-expectations and profitable project management. The Associate Scientist/Engineer will report to Product Development Manager but will consistently work across the entire team.

**Examples of specific duties include:**

Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for existing processes

Constructing reactivity testing setups (e.g., batch reactors, column studies, etc)

Drafting SOPs related to new lab and field-based activities

Preparing standard solutions and generating calibration curves

Support field deployment and post-deployment maintenance/monitoring of environmental products

Use general chemistry concepts to determine chemical dosing requirements

Follow appropriate EHS procedures in the lab and the field

Present results from laboratory and field work internal technical presentations and communicating key results to the technical team

Demonstrate excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to find ways around obstacles and identify new strategies to get the job done

Participate in group problem solving sessions

Individual will be exposed to additional areas of operation within the company. This unique exposure provides exciting growth opportunities. Examples include:

Help coordinate business development activities within practice; identify key clients / business areas, growth strategy, and capture strategy.

Serve as a technical leader and mentor during team expansion.

Serve as a role model for leadership, company culture, and values.

Work with marketing and others to develop client branding within practice.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Minimum B.S. degree in Engineering or other Physical Science program, (Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or related field). M.S in related field preferred.

Prior laboratory experience is required.

Collegial team builder with excellent interpersonal skills.

Technical report writing and effective communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Must be able to wear a respirator.

Must be able to lift heavy items (~55 lb per package).

Willingness and ability to travel to TGP offices, collaborators, and project/client sites as required. (10% travel time)
