Kelly Engineering Resources has an outstanding long-term contract opportunity for an **AutoCAD Drafter.** This position is with small design firm headquartered in Madison Heights, MI. Our client develops shop drawings from architectural files for millwork manufacturers. Due to growth, they are adding an additional person to their team. Our client prefers a candidate that can work hybrid or fully onsite but can accommodate a remote work solution for candidates that require minimal training in drafting architectural millwork or wooden cabinetry.


In this role, you will provide drafting support on multiple projects in varying drafting standards & millwork construction methods.


**Essential Responsibilities of the Successful AutoCAD Drafter/Project Coordinator:**


**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**


+ Utilize AutoCAD to draft and detail Architectural Millwork.

+ Record and track the status and completion of tasks provided by the CAD Manager.

+ Communicate and collaborate with CAD Manager to complete tasks in a timely manner.

+ Prepare written communications and correspondences regarding engineering and project material.

+ Produce custom construction details when necessary to meet the design intent of our contracted scope of work.

+ Complete submittals in a timely manner and according to our company standards

+ Maintain an understanding of all the libraries used to produce architectural millwork shop drawings.

+ Effectively manages time and prioritizes assigned tasks.

+ Understand & maintain Job/specific detail standards


**Qualifications of the Successful AutoCAD Drafter**


+ High school diploma or GED and formal training

+ Associates Degree or Bachelor in Construction Management, Architecture or Wood Technology preferred.

+ AutoCAD proficiency required

+ MS Office Proficiency

+ Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, required

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Other Software skills used in the job: Bluebeam, Adobe PDF, Cloud Server Use (Google Back up & Sync, Dropbox), Zoom Video Conference & screen Share


**Pluses**


+ Knowledge of building product manufacturing

+ Experience with millwork production methods and fabrication techniques

+ Knowledge of Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) Standards
