**Kelly Engineering** is currently seeking an **Automation Controls Engineer** for one of our molecular diagnostics manufacturing clients in **Newark, CA.** This would be a long term contract with full time opportunities possible.


_The_ **_Equipment Automation Controls Engineer_** _works in conjunction with the entire Automation Engineering team_ **_to design, develop and commission automated assembly equipment for high-volume production of diagnostic consumables._** _Introducing newly built manufacturing equipment into the factory, by supporting sustaining engineers and doing knowledge transfers._


+ _Responsible for configuring, programming, testing and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment (_ **_PLC based control systems_** _and associated components: i.e. UI, Motion controllers, Robots, Heater Controllers, barcode readers vision systems, etc.),_

+ _Create documentation including, but not limited to design input requirements, specifications, testing protocols, installation, and service procedures_

+ _Author acceptance test and validation protocols and reports_

+ _Modify existing equipment to improve product quality, increase part throughput, decrease cost, and strengthen safety measures_

+ _Perform change orders and release processes using the Agile PLM system_

+ _Maintain strict compliance with clients Quality procedures_

+ _Introduce new manufacturing equipment in the factories and assist Manufacturing Engineering group with troubleshooting floor equipment when required_


+ _Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time_


**_Education and Experience :_**

+ _Bachelors degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR_

+ _Masters degree in field with 1-2 years of related work experience._

+ _Allen-Bradley PLC controls, understand input/outputs, ControlLogix Platform v18 or higher._

+ _Hands on experience with High-volume automated manufacturing environment._

**_Knowledge and skills:_**

+ _Proficient in_ **_Allen-Bradley PLC ControlLogix Platform_** _and development tools_

+ _Proficient with_ **_motion controllers and Vision Inspection Systems_**

+ _Hands-on experience with_ **_electro-mechanical troubleshooting in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment_**

+ _Excellent oral and written communication skills_

+ _Strong analytical and problem-solving skills_

+ _Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)_

+ **_Medical equipment in an FDA regulated environment_**

+ _Experience writing/_ **_executing IQ, OQ, and PQ Protocols_**

**_Physical_** **_requirements/abilities:_**

+ _Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours._

+ **_10% travel_**


+ _Experience with designing and maintaining vision system used in production (i.e. Cognex/Keyence) or Epson robots_

+ _Experience with designing and creating the electrical schematics (within UL/IEC compliance) required to build a high complexity automation system_

+ _Experience with creating equipment electrical schematics under AutoCAD Electrical_

+ _Experience with integrating Pilz safety PLCs into manufacturing equipment designs._

+ _Experience with a variety of sensor technologies (thermal, optical, position, pressure, flow, etc.)_

+ _Experience using Agile PLM system_

+ _Experience conducting design reviews required to obtain the necessary DIRs (Design Input Requirement) to build high complex automation equipment for all phases of the design process_

**_Important information:_** _This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch._
