**Travel is normally 75% of the time and is limited to the US and Mexico.** Weekend stay is not common.


**Job Description**


Position Title **Process / Industrial Engineer**


**Overview:**


The candidate should have a background in a high volume, repetitive manufacturing. They will have had Engineering or Production Operations experience and have a knowledge of Budgets, Material Flow, Equipment purchase, and Equipment Installation.


Team members typically has 25 years experience and are skilled at applying Lean Principles in the manufacturing environment. Because of their experience, they can identify improvement opportunities in a wide variety of manufacturing processes. Their ability to conduct time studies enables them to evaluate labor and equipment performance, evaluating the need for additional equipment/labor or identifying excess of either.


**Skills Required**


+ The candidate should be skilled in making presentations to varying levels of management.

+ They should have at least an intermediate skill level with PowerPoint and Excel.

+ Be able to support the Purchasing teams strategy in negotiations with suppliers.

+ Have a demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects and objectives, simultaneously.

+ They will use strong problem solving and analytical skills to influence individuals and groups, foster change, and promote implementation of improvements.

+ Bachelor degree required.

+ Automotive experience preferred including tool, fixture, and assembly experience. Any layout, process flow, robotics, PLC, controls, automation, stamping, injection molding, casting, machining experience a plus. AutoCAD experience helpful.


**The Job**


The employee will be a member of a team that travels to Nissan suppliers and participates in activities aimed at identifying and eliminating waste, thus reducing cost. The goal is to identify savings, mitigate claims, and validate cost that ultimately lower Nissans cost.


The activity period is usually 1 week with the need to follow-up via email and phone. Typically, these savings are in the form of headcount reduction or improved efficiencies and not through new large capital investment.


Travel is normally 80% of the time and is limited to the US and Mexico. Weekend stay is not common.
