Position Title: Senior Business Solutions Analyst

Job Family: Business Solutions Analysis

Primary Function

• Formulates and defines business scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business and industry requirements

• Performs functional analysis, requirements, definition and application module configuration and testing.

• Responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables

• Has a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions

• Responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation

• May be involved in the installation and tuning of modification, as well as archiving data. Generally this position has light programming skills in the appropriate language to develop necessary “work arounds”

• Responsible for defining detailed requirements, analyzing business needs, and validating solutions with the client

• Details requirements through product development and other functions to support the project team

• Configures highly complex components based on functional requirements

• Monitors other business or technical analysts in project software development methods and processes and implementation of those methods

• Possesses full technical knowledge of most phases of system analysis

• Evaluates development projects

• Assists in tailoring the development process to meet the project needs

• Provide technology direction to business for tactical approaches

• Provides support to end-users for application configuration and/or in house developed applications

Project Management: Works with project manager to develop realistic work estimates, financial budgets & project schedules. Reviews project deliverables for accuracy and provide assistance and mentoring to others

Resource Estimation: Estimates resources requirements for medium-sized, straight-forward projects

Customer Relationship Management: Accountable for addressing customer needs through individual action or with a “warm handoff”

Proactively seeks improved relationships with customers and identifies business needs that require single-department, complex solutions

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience

AND 5 years of relevant technical or business work experience

Additional Requirements

• Experience with requirements management, diagramming, use case development

• Experience in process design, reengineering, and requirements documentation methodologies

• Experience in the design and production of quality deliverables

• General understanding of Software Development Life Cycle

• Vendor relationship skills

• Skilled in Project Management, has ability to small projects

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
