Description **Seeking a Bench Scientist I for an 18 month assignment in New Haven, CT.**

• Assist the Biomarker Lead as needed to prepare a transition to an all-electronic data notebook (E-workbook).
• Create and/or update SOPs related to the E-workbook transition.
• Maintain E-workbook templates as needed.
• Perform Submission Ready QC on E-workbook pages as needed.
• Train E-workbook end users as need requires.
• Validate biomarker analysis template with E-workbook.
• Support the Biomarker Data Lead in the optimization of the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
• Support lead Biomarker Assay Scientists in the development, optimization, and validation of biomarker assays as needed.
• Prepare validation samples, QC samples, and reagents.
• Assist with sample collection and perform sample extraction when needed.
• Support Biomarker Lead to train other Biomarker Assay Scientists on all aspects of biomarker analysis.
• Perform Quality control, calibration checks, and stability checks on instruments, reagents, assays, and techniques.
• Perform maintenance on plate readers, plate washers and other laboratory instruments that may be assigned and maintain quality control and calibration logs.
• Analyze, summarize and document experimental results.
• Perform data entry using laboratory information management system (LIMS) and QC data extracts.
• Track sample lifecycle in LIMS, including QC of sample shipments.
• Update the Biomarker Lead on the status, results and problems in performance of the assays.
• Use Microsoft Word and Outlook and Microsoft Excel and XLFit to analyze data.
• Perform any other projects / duties that may be assigned by the Laboratory Director / Lead Biomarker Assay Scientist.

Qualifications: MS in Biology or Chemistry plus 3 years of relevant experience
