We are currently seeking a Biodefense Drug Development Program Manager to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS: The contractor shall:

- Collaborate with the Drug Development Section Chief and program officers to advance product development contracts and Preclinical Services task orders to achieve an innovative, integrated, and responsive product portfolio focused on advancing the development of more effective therapeutics for biodefense pathogens, emerging infectious diseases and multidrug resistant bacteria.

- Closely monitor and stay informed of relevant national and international research efforts, programs and policies relevant to the development of improved biodefense pathogen, emerging infectious disease therapeutics.

- Organize, conduct and/or participate in workshops, conferences, site visits, and staff meetings; present and discuss therapeutics research-related projects and information.

- Coordinate and collaborate with other Branch and Division staff and NIAID and USG Offices.

- Provide effective communication and problem-solving skills in working with other Branch, Division, NIAID components and academic and industrial organizations.

- Provide project management for several on-going projects, scheduling meetings, approving reports, managing budgets and organizing program information.

- Provide scientific review and oversight of anti-infective small molecule and/or monoclonal antibody drug development projects, technical reports and study plans.

- Collaborate with the Section Chief and other program officers to evaluate study reports, participate in monthly scientific meetings and provide periodic progress reports.

REQUIREMENTS: The contractor must have:

- Ph.D. degree is required.

- Minimum of four years of experience in anti-infective biomedical therapeutics research.

- Minimum of three years of drug development experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry.

- Experience in project management.

- Previous experience with monoclonal antibody development or and multi-drug resistant bacteria research is preferred.

-Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

-Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
