Kelly is seeking a **Biologist** for one of our clients in **Chesterfield, MO**
+ Hours 8am-5pm
+ 1 year contract
+ $28/hr
Responsibilities include:
Organizing and tracking experimental data
Planting, transplanting, and pollinating plants
Harvesting, shelling and counting seed
Tissue sampling
DNA extractions, PCR
Chromosome preparation
FISH/GISH
Microscopy
Cloning
Sequencing and sequence analysis
Maintaining detailed record keeping and documentation
Use of various IT tools/ team sites to manage day to day work
The successful candidate will work well with others yet be able to operate independently with general instruction, be attentive to detail, enjoy building relationships with partner groups, and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
Required Education and Skills:
Minimum of B.S. degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related natural science required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Comfort and willingness to learn new IT tools and systems
Experience growing and caring for plants
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build strong relationships and networks across teams
Desired Education and Skills:
Masters in Biology, Biochemistry, or related natural science
Experience with DNA extraction, PCR and cloning
Experience with project management
Experience with sterile technique and plant tissue culture
Experience using a fluorescent microscope
