We are currently seeking a Biologist - Immunology to support the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

**TASKS/SERVICES** : The contractor shall:
(1) Perform experiments to investigate molecular mechanisms that control the development and function of the thymus, which produce self-protective and self-tolerant T cells.
(2) Perform techniques of molecular biology, including PCR, quantitative RT-PCR, gene cloning, vector construction and cell transfection and transduction.
(3) Perform cell culture and basic techniques in immunology.
(4) Perform FACS and ELISA.
(5) Work with staff on animal colony management.
(6) Collaborate with laboratory scientists and participate in the planning of experiments.
(7) Perform scientific programming and experimental design.
(8) Record and interpret experimental research data.
(9) Review and discuss experimental research results.
(10) Provide training to personnel in the performance of specialized procedures, techniques, etc.
(11) Write and review documentation, including summaries, reports and presentations.
(12) Attend and participate in seminars and meetings.

**REQUIREMENTS** : The contractor ideally would have:
(1) Master’s degree in Biology or a related discipline; two (2) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a Master’s degree.
(2) Minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
(3) Expertise in immunology or molecular biology experiments.
(4) Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
(5) Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
