Interested in a career in which you can make an impact on healthcare and society without a medical degree?  Here at WCG IRB you will have the opportunity to do just that.  We have been the ethical barometer in clinical research for over 50 years and are looking for individuals with the skills and passion to make a difference in the world.  Our Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) services division focuses on ensuring human gene transfer clinical trials are conducted safely by administering IBCs for hospitals and clinics around the world.

The Biosafety Client Relations Specialist will work closely with officials at hospitals and clinics conducting human gene transfer research to ensure they meet federal compliance requirements outlined by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  The primary responsibility of the Client Relations Specialist will be the establishment, administration, and maintenance of hundreds of individual IBC registrations with the NIH.  The position requires strong organizational skills, as well as an ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal and external clients.

-Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school and 2 years of office experience supporting a member of an executive management team, or
-4 years related experience and/or training, or
-An equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel).
-Knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
-Ability to prioritize work based on evolving internal and external needs.
-Ability to learn new computer applications and databases.
-Previous experience with IBCs or other clinical research-focused regulatory entities (FDA, NIH) is a plus.
-Must not be debarred from participation in research.

-Process requests from hospitals/clinics to establish new IBCs.
-Collect documentation required for IBC registrations.
-Prepare, complete, and maintain IBC registrations using the NIHs online IBC registration database.
-Work closely with colleagues to facilitate registration of new IBCs.
-Respond to and/or route client emails and phone calls in a cordial, professional manner.
-Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized files according to department standards.
-Serve as a training resource for colleagues.
-Other duties as assigned, which may occasionally be unrelated to the position described here.
-Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
