Must have previous Inventory Experience!





Direct Hire Position!



Pay Rate: $21 to $23/hour, depending on experience



Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm





Job Summary




+ Conduct an inventory of all materials deemed in scope

+ Develop a list of materials to be managed by meeting with lab and equipment users to determine which items should be part of the program

+ Contact all vendors to determine product availability, lead time and sourcing options

+ Coordinate efforts with sales to develop listing of items for designation as customer specific priority ("TX" )parts and/or engage pre-reservation ("pre-res") inventory stocking service for storage of critical or long lead time materials in Visalia warehouse

+ Identify furniture required for organization and storage of materials in lab and warehouse designated spaces

+ Organize, label, stock and replenish points of use and stocking locations

+ Conduct daily inventory of point of use locations and stockroom(s) to determine what materials need to be stocked or ordered

+ Maintain material lists and interact with end users to add, change and delete materials as needed

+ Meet with end users to discuss forecasts, anticipate changes in product needs and plan storage/location requirements

+ Communicate with all vendors to ensure ordered materials are in stock and arrive on site to minimize process disruptions while focusing on holding minimal inventory on site.

+ Conduct weekly review of pre-res and TX inventory with our company and communicate directly with critical materials buyer to ensure proper amounts of materials and in stock at all times

+ Communicate potential delays, backorders and stock outs to stakeholders; engage our company sales rep for alternative selection

+ Follow all customer safety program requirements

+ Time permitting, other mutually agreed to tasks related to lab support activities, such as basic equipment maintenance tasks, ad hoc ordering, biohazard waste collection, etc.





MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)




+ Performs inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting.

+ Provides daily customer service functions and communicates with the customer relative to inventory management.

+ Performs purchasing functions including but not limited to: back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.

+ Responsible for all customer service related functions including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.

+ Performs shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections.

+ Responsible for handling hazardous material

+ Interfaces directly with customer point of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers.

+ Responsible for managing consigned, non-consigned, customer owned or 3rd party inventory.

+ Utilizes our company and basic customer computer systems in fulfillment of job duties.

+ Meets goals and objectives: safety, performance and quality.

+ Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.

+ Interfacing with our company's Sales force and manufacture representatives.

+ Documents change management.

+ Updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.





QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)




+ High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience

+ 2+ years experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service

+ Knowledge of scientific products and services a plus



KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)




+ Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances

+ Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

+ Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing

+ Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can do attitude

+ High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures

+ Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking

+ Ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

+ Knowledge of scientific products and services a plus

+ Ability to communicate effectively with both the customer and internal contacts

+ Must be able to lift up to 50lbs





ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)




+ Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

+ Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

+ A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

+ Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs
