Kelly Science & Clinical is looking for a talented and ambitious scientist. The Biotechnology Research Analyst will support early-stage business creation and advancement in the healthcare and biotech sectors that present innovative opportunities through the strategic use of tools such as grants, mentorships, collaborations, business development support, and investments. These activities will contribute to regional growth in St. Louis, closing health and economic gaps in underserved communities, and national impact across healthcare.


This role will be a resource for the Center for Pandemic Resiliency CPR team as well as the team working to increase domestic active pharmaceutical ingredient API availability. CPR will position the St. Louis region as an innovation hub designed to help U.S. communities prevent, cure, and recover from infectious disease outbreaks while creating new economic opportunity, diversifying the local economy, and advancing health and economic equity. API will cultivate a thriving pharmaceutical drug supply sector in the St. Louis region, improving and securing the critical U.S. medicine supply chain and availability. This position will report to the Director of the CPR.


The Biotechnology Research Analyst will focus on evaluating the scientific and business opportunities. The Analyst will also evaluate, advise, and support startup companies developing innovative technologies to address the substantial gap between bench scale proof-of-concept and commercial scale cGMP production. They will pair these startups with manufacturers and technology partners to form a cluster of partners that enables commercialization. This position will require highly effective internal and external communication and will require collaborative efforts as well as independent work.


**Key Duties and Responsibilities:**


+ Presenting in-depth research on background scientific content

+ Collaborating with innovative and entrepreneurial contributors

+ Assessing business viability and portfolio fit

+ Evaluating intellectual property

+ Communicating with technical consultants

+ Partnering with internal groups in opportunity assessment


**Required Qualifications/Experience:**


+ Ph.D. in biological or physical sciences, or equivalent career experience

+ Broad scientific understanding of biological sciences and biotechnology healthcare, pandemic

+ Understanding of the entrepreneur and small business process, with focus on commercial applications

+ Exposure to technical evaluations, due diligence, and intellectual property review

+ Experience within a startup or commercial setting (preferred)

+ Must reside in the St. Louis region, or be willing to relocate
