**What does a typical day look as a Blending and Dehydration Operator?**

The **Blending and Dehydration Operator** works closely with other departments, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, Warehouse and Materials Management throughout the day.

**Dehydration Operator**

An operator working in the Dehydration department daily tasks include but not limited to total ownership of a dryer, wet blending, recording and completing paper worksheets, data entry, material movement, basic maintenance activities and teamwork. A Dehydration operator takes part in a shift handover meeting prior to taking over a dryer, after the meeting the operator will then record the machine settings, throughout the shift the operator is required to make adjustments to the machine in order to maintain production run rates and to maintain our quality standards. The dryers fill a 55-gallon drum with crystals, in between filling, an operator will be completing the master sanitation schedule or mixing the next wet blend batch. The operator is responsible for total sanitation of the dryer and adhering to scheduled turn overs, operators are responsible for machine lubrication during changeovers and raising maintenance notifications for any downtime or maintenance work needed.

**Blending Operator**

An operator working in the Blending and Packaging department daily tasks include not limited to working on the milling and blending line. The operator(s) in the blend room are responsible for assembling cartons/drums, placing liners in cartons/drums, filling the cartons/drums to a designated fill weight, and sealing the liners. In between batches the operators are to assist with moving materials and loading and unloading the inbound and outbound conveyors. The line consists of four major workstations and is typically ran with four operators:

+ The Fitz Mill Operator is responsible for thorough and timely milling of batches, processing batches in SAP, loading and unloading the conveyers and material movement.

+ The Blender Operator is responsible for filling cartons or other containers to the designated fill weight, making boxes and assisting the Stacker with loading and unloading the conveyors.

+ The Sealer Operator is responsible for consistently sealing the case liners as per the designated procedure, making boxes and assisting with loading and unloading the conveyors in between batches.

+ The Stacker is responsible for label printing, inspecting liners, gluing cartons, labeling cartons, stacking the cartons onto a pallet, once the pallet is full the Stacker receives the pallet in SAP and completes the inventory transaction steps. The Stacker [MDR1] is responsible for wrapping the pallet and staging it for the warehouse to transport off site. In between batches the stacker is primarily responsible for material movements, transporting crystals from the cooler to the line loading area and to assist with loading and unloading the line.

**Hours & Compensation**

+ Monday - Friday 6 am to 4:30 pm (OT may be needed)

+ Pay $16

You might be an outstanding fit as a **Blending and Dehydration Operator** if you have:

+ Minimum of one 1 year of food manufacturing experience.

+ High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in the English language. Excellent organizational and planning skills needed to maximize job efficiency.

+ Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

+ Must be able stand for prolonged periods of times, up to 12 hours.

+ Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

+ Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with the possibility of minor dusting from the processing of food products is required.

+ Must be computer literate; be able to perform basic data entry into computer software ERP system and Microsoft Office applications.

+ Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations i.e. percentages, fractions, etc. .

+ Must be able to operate and read scales in pounds, grams and kilograms.

+ Must be able to follow good manufacturing practices, work safely and achieve results in a team environment.

+ Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment.

+ Must have mobility in all areas of the plant including confined spaces. Must be able to be punctual and meet expectations for regular attendance.

+ Must have attention to detail and be able to perform several tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to frequently fill and empty 55 gallon drums and mtek boxes.

+ Understand basic physical properties of raw materials and intermediates used.

+ Must be able to safely operate a forklift and be able to attend forklift training course.

+ Must be able to safely dispense and use chemicals while using proper Personal Protective Equipment PPE .
