**Overview:**


The Brake Lab Test Technician works closely with Test Engineering and is provided direction for daily/weekly schedules and planning. The tasks a technician may be asked to perform include: set-up, monitoring, and tear down of lab engineering tests (development and durability); test fixture; test data collection and analysis; and general equipment maintenance and trouble shooting of servo-hydraulic test systems. The technician must have good communication, writing, and computer skills. They must be self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment.


**Principle Accountabilities:**


+ Install and remove parts, fixtures, or instrumentation as required to support development and durability testing.

+ Insure all equipment is in good working order, calibrations are kept up to date, and any equipment problems or issues are reported and resolved.

+ Setup and monitor lab durability tests to support the Design Validation and Development process.

+ Setup and perform module, or component static or dynamic measurements, to quantify performance or dimensional integrity.

+ Perform tasks as requested on work request, insure tasks are completed in manner understood by the requestor, and document on work request the tasks performed, the time required to complete the task, and the date the task was performed.

+ Knowledge of Link and or Controllers is a plus.

+ Understanding of Brake Systems and their functioning components.

+ Verify that acquired data is valid, and assure that no fixture or component issues exist that will render data useless.

+ Keep good records of tests performed and update Test Engineering with written status when necessary.

+ Keep test and maintenance records as required to insure compliance with TS16949.

+ Follow all safety procedures, maintain a safe work environment, and follow good housekeeping practices.

+ Position involves working the Off Shift.


**Education/Experience:**


+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Technical Associates Degree desirable.

+ 5-10 years as a lab technician with an OEM, major supplier, or contract test lab.

+ Working knowledge of vehicle braking systems

+ Working knowledge of transducers, instrumentation, and data analysis

+ MTS, Link or equivalent servo-hydraulic equipment experience.

+ Pneumatic and electric motor experience

+ General machine shop and welding experience is desirable

+ Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel


**Additional Details:**


+ Contract-to-hire opportunity

+ First shift position, but would like someone available to work an off-shift when needed
