**Associate Buyer**


**Temp To Hire**


**Location: San Marcos, TX**


+ Charged with assisting and supporting Buyers with the sourcing/management of critical components and services for industrial plant and fleet operations.

+ This position will work alongside the procurement team and other departments, primarily supporting the routing and inventory of parts and services for plant operations

+ The buyer will also be responsible for maintaining inventories of parts and supplies on hand and ensures re-ordering/purchasing of parts and supplies according to management guidelines.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Fulfills order requests from internal customers utilizing a variety of external suppliers to source the best products and prices; negotiates terms for pricing and delivery to provide best outcomes for internal customers

+ Researches, evaluates, and identifies new suppliers and opportunities to reduce costs and improve quality of materials and services; builds and maintains relationships with suppliers regarding materials availability, scheduling, and pricing

+ Responsible for receiving and signing for deliveries and comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists. Inspecting deliveries to ensure they match order and invoice criteria.

+ Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information. Responsible for returning unsatisfactory shipments and/or receiving replacements.

+ Accurately enters all data, supporting documentation, and explanatory notes of discrepancies in the workflow data system related to the Requisition, Purchase Order, GL Coding, and proof of proper receipt of supplies, equipment, services ordered.

+ Resolves invoice discrepancies with suppliers related to purchase orders and deliveries.

+ Works with all internal and external departments to ensure proper delivery of orders and maintains communications on the status of deliveries.

+ Issues parts, supplies, and tools according to established procedures: manages inventory levels and assures acceptable turns of inventory for materials.

+ Displays an attitude of professionalism, helpfulness, and co-operation to all contacts inside and outside the Company.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.


**Qualifications**


+ Two to Five years experience in purchasing or warehouse/inventory control position in an industrial maintenance environment or Bachelor s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, Business Administration or similar discipline.

+ Moderate proficiency in Excel and Work required.

+ Valid Texas Driver s License and satisfactory driving record.

+ Able to lift or move stocked items, climb ladders, and perform physical work.

+ Professional ethics, good tact, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others in teamwork activities.


Preferred Qualifications


+ Strong organizational, leadership, and planning skills.

+ Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.

+ APICS / CPIM / CPSM certification is desirable.

+ Previous buying experience for heavy industrial products or automotive parts.

+ Ability to maintain an inventory system, generate inventory reports and analyses.
