Kelly Financial Resources is seeking a Buyer to work with one of our premier clients, a growing and innovative manufacturing and sales firm in Coventry, on a temporary basis for at least 6 months. Our client had to reshuffle some of their current personnel in the finance department due to a SAP implementation and therefore needs extra help. The Buyer will support the purchasing effort of vendor selection, order placement and expediting. This entails sourcing and determining ultimate vendors through competitive bids, negotiating purchasing contracts, inspection of vendors’ facilities, issuing of purchase orders and resolving problems arising in the course of a purchase transaction.

Responsibilities & Duties

Performs complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limits. Resolves complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. Updates project plans and purchasing systems; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases. Negotiates prices, terms and quality requirements; prepares requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply sources; evaluates market conditions. Performs value analysis to identify cost improvements.


+ Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or similar discipline with at least 4 years of experience, preferably in purchasing.
+ Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable
+ Ability to Negotiate Contract and Pricing with attention to on-time delivery and quality.
+ Ability to work well with a team
+ Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
+ Familiarity with SAP Hana a plus
+ Good analytical, problem solving, project management and organizational skills.
+ High level of competence with MS Office products, specifically in Excel. Experience with V-lookup, pivot tables and Access is strongly preferred.
