Kelly Services is immediately hiring a Buyer for one of our customers in Livermore, CA. Our customer is a leading supplier of automation technology and technical education. Our customer is currently looking for a professional, enthusiastic, experienced individual to join their team.


Hours


M-F 8am-5pm


Salary: 75k+ DOE


Responsibilities


+ Review requisitions and generate purchase orders for completeness, accuracy & conformance with established policies and procedures

+ Confers and negotiates with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

+ Tracking status of delivery of purchased material. Expedite material on request.

+ Update on material status in a timely manner including changing shipping conditions.

+ Resolve any discrepancies with suppliers and forward all necessary documentation for invoicing approval and payment to appropriate department

+ Purchases materials and services at the most favorable terms for the organization

+ Negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services

+ Maintains database of vendor and product information. Gives disposition to business matters with vendors and suppliers.:


Qualifications:


+ BS Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Finance

+ 3+ years purchasing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

+ General understanding of metal fabrication processes and mechanical drawings is a plus

+ ERP systems - General knowledge

+ MS Excel- Advanced.
