**Title:** Cabling Technician

**Pay Rate** : $14/hr

**Shift:** 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

**Primary Function:** Responsible for building and testing cabling and cable harnesses for prototypes, products, tools and assemblies.

**Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:**

+ Construct and test cables and cable harnesses consistent with the IPC-620C standard, through mechanical assembly, soldering, and wire harness assembly.

+ Troubleshoot continuity and quality issues as they arise.

+ Provide general support for the engineering team.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment including tools and assembly areas.

**Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)**

+ H.S. Diploma or GED required - Associates Degree highly desirable.

+ Minimum of 1+ years of recent and relevant experience required.

+ Experience and strong ability to read simple schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical prints preferred. Able to follow engineering directions or procedures as required.

+ Familiarity with basic hand tooling for cabling including but not limited to Hand Crimpers, wire strippers, soldering equipment, and heat guns.

+ Familiarity with the use of basic mechanical and electrical tools for testing the quality, continuity, and functionality of cables such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and other typical electronics/electrical lab equipment.

+ RoHS Soldering experience preferred.

+ Strong attention to detail required

+ Hands on cable building skills and mechanical aptitude required.

+ Familiarity with reading cable drawings and basic GD&T

+ Familiarity with Vector Network Analyzers (preferred)

+ Familiarity with automated cable testers (Cirris, CAMI, DIT-MCO, other) (preferred)

+ Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.

+ Demonstrate commitment and adherence to the companys Core Values.

+ Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Work Environment Standard lab/production environment and/or cleanroom. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Must be comfortable with small parts handling and use of magnifiers.
