**Title:** CAD Designer

**Duration:** 6+ months

**Location:** Alpharetta GA

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ This role serves multiple support functions within the R&D organization.

+ The person will spend 1/3 of their time working as a mechanical designer on R&D conceptual projects, 1/3 of their time as a CAD drafter / liaison / administrator, and 1/3 of their time supporting our quality systems documentation specialists

+ Using CAD software, prepares drawings according to fully defined instructions, sketches and/or layouts prepared by others.

+ Performs drawing changes as directed by others.

+ Candidate will be instructed in what to do and how to do it.

+ Details of work are reviewed in process, and all drawings are thoroughly checked by more experienced designers.

+ Person must know drafting practices and procedures; CAD operation; basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry; be able to express information in verbal and written form.


+ Ideal candidate will be able to perform as a mechanical designer, CAD drafter and administrator, and documentation specialist. The quality systems are EtQ (Reliance) and Compliant Pro (willing to train).

+ Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are musts, with a strong ability to use normal PC tools (email, Skype, web browser, etc.)

+ Must have a very strong attention to detail and the ability to work with and command presence of a cross-functional team, as this person will act as a liaison between the core R&D team and the offshore drafting team.

+ The person must be able to balance multiple projects at once and be able to communicate daily statuses to the project leader.

+ Ability to work with engineering drawings and create redline is required (engineering degree is not required).

+ Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, SolidWorks EPDM, and drafting background required.

**Education / Experience:**

+ Entry Level position that requires an Associates Degree/Bachelors Degree or 0-2 years of equivalent experience.
