Description Kelly Services has partnered with a Fortune 500 company that is looking to fill a **Cell Culture Development and Operations intern role** in **West Chester, PA** . Seeking a graduate student with a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in biology or chemical/biochem engineering.

The co-op will work as part of a team within cell culture development to develop and execute experimental studies using ambr15 and/or ambr250 to evaluate either commercial or customized media/feeds in support of increasing antibody product titer for a CHO fed-batch or perfusion process. The co-op will support routine cell culture maintenance for these experiments and support analytical evaluation of the spent media (e.g. metabolites) and product (quality attributes) to evaluate outcome from these experiments. At the end of the term, the coop will present the work in a cross-functional meeting and also write a technical report.

**Job Responsibilities:**

**Assay Automation by Bravo:**

+ Support mammalian cell culture process development of recombinant therapeutic proteins under supervision:

+ Perform routine cell culture maintenance & seed culture expansion to support bioreactor runs

+ Perform experiment of the mammalian stable cell lines in shaker flasks, mini-bioreactors (ambr15™, ambr250™), and /or small scale (≤10L) bioreactors

+ Perform simple analytical techniques, like SDS-PAGE, titer estimation by Protein A-HPLC, AAA analysis etc.

+ Maintain accurate lab notebooks and perform data analysis

+ Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

+ Maintain a compliant laboratory operation in accordance with development protocols, internal procedures and policies
+ Present technical data in internal group meetings as needed and write technical reports
**Qualifications** :

+ BS degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Chemical/Biochemical Engineering
+ Master’s degree level coursework in Biotechnology with relevant lab experience
+ The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team and independently under general supervision.
+ Experience with aseptic cell culture techniques and an understanding/experience of mammalian cell culture process development is a plus
