Description Kelly Services is seeking a **Chemical Engineer** for our client, an Agrichemical company in Indianapolis, IN. This position is a long term contract opportunity and can be extended indefinitely based on performance and business needs.

**Our client will pay around $26- $32/hr depending on qualifications/experience.**

This role is based in Indianapolis, IN. Qualified candidates that are not commutable must be willing to relocate on their own expenses for the role. Please do not apply if you are not local and require relocation assistance.


Seeking a chemical engineering contractor to join our Downstream Processing Labs within the Bioengineering R&D Department. The role, as part of a team, will be responsible for designing, conducting, and documenting lab experiments to deliver innovative solutions to fermentation and oilseed based agricultural products. The labs support process development of healthy oils products, natural product insecticides and fungicides, and crop biologicals at scales up to 50 L using a variety of separation based unit operations including, extraction, filtration, centrifugation, crystallization, evaporation, flocculation and more.

Responsibilities include:

+ Develop and implement technical solutions through hands-on experimentation/problem-solving for research problems that are well defined across multiple project areas.
+ Apply scientific knowledge, technical skills, and leadership to deliver high quality scientific results that are aligned with R&D project plans and create value
+ Deliver majority of value in a laboratory setting, with anticipation of 75% of time in a lab
+ Flexibility in schedule for experiments that run for longer than 8 hours on occasion
+ Complete mass balances to determine process yield
+ Use engineering knowledge to scale up improvements to manufacturing plants

+ BS in Chemical Engineering or related field is preferred
+ Experience working in a laboratory setting and familiarity with laboratory safety
+ Experience with biochemical processes and/or separation processes is preferred
