Kelly Scientific is seeking a Chemical Manufacturing Operator I in Milwaukee, WI.


6-month temporary position


**Shift: M-F 2pm-10:30pm**


**Compensation: $19- $21/hour DOE**


**$500 sign on bonus & $500 completion bonus (after 6 months)**


The Chemical Manufacturing Operator I set up and operate limited departmental equipment to perform bulk material processing, standard chemical preparations, and a limited number of drying/kiln type furnace operations according to production orders.


**RESPONSIBILITIES** :


+ Use proper safety and personal protective equipment. Understand how to find and use SDS.

+ Perform proper disposal of regulated waste debris and process wastewater.

+ Perform basic air-sensitive compound manipulations.

+ Operate equipment to achieve necessary reactions and results to include tube furnaces, often performing complex operations.

+ Set up furnaces and monitor process.

+ Set up vacuum ovens, distillation equipment and fine glassware.

+ Operate large processing equipment (500 gal.). Maintain instrumentation and equipment including preventive maintenance as needed.

+ Sample products and submit for analytical tests using the computer system.

+ Filter material using gravity or suction methods and dry final products to appropriate consistency.

+ Perform precipitation reactions in aqueous solutions.

+ Accurately complete labor data entry along with material goods issuing and receipting into the ERP system.

+ Read and comprehend Work Instructions, SOPs and Lab Records

+ Good documentation practices are required, which includes filling out and keeping concise, accurate and complete lab records.

+ Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.


**QUALIFICATIONS:**


+ 1-3 years experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is required.

+ A high school diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree in chemistry from a two-year college or technical school or a bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Physics is preferred.

+ Ability to operate various departmental equipment to include sandblaster, extruding machine, turbula mixer, various blending machines, scales, kiln furnaces, arc fuser and drying furnaces.

+ The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

+ This position requires access to export -controlled information, therefore only US Persons (e.g. US Citizen, US Permanent Resident) may be considered for this position.


**WORK ENVIRONMENT:** The employee is regularly exposed to low concentrations of fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. All such exposures are customarily within limits established by federal and state regulatory bodies. The employee occasionally is exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
