Description **CHEMICAL REACTOR TECHNICIAN**
**MUST BE LOCAL TO BAYTOWN/HOUSTON, TX AREA**
**WORK HOURS 1:30 PM TO 9:30 PM**

Today, Kelly Services is searching for an experienced Chemical Reactor Technician to join the team at a Fortune 500 Chemical Company in Baytown, TX on a long-term contract basis.

**DUTIES**

*Run and maintain lab scale solution polymer reactors
*Use mechanical skills to problem solve reactor issues
*Work with ENB (5-Ethylidene-2-Norbornene) and NB (Norbornene)
*Interface with Ph.D. Engineers and Chemists daily
calculates, analyzes and interprets data
*Perform wet bench-top chemistry prepare calibration solutions, titrations, etc.
*Process Unit operation
*Analytical equipment operation such as GC, GC/MS ChemStation

**SKILLS**

*Experience running lab scale solution phase reactors is a HUGE plus
*No allergies or sensitivity to ENB (5-Ethylidene-2-Norbornene) or NB (Norbornene)
*Capable of safe, reliable, and independent laboratory work given framing of problem and regular direction.
*Ability to work in a team environment.
*Ability to learn new techniques as needed.
*Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
*Strong problem solving skills.
*Concern for accuracy and precision.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Basic trouble-shooting skills for units operation is highly desirable
*Experience in operating pilot scale units is a desirable
*Experience with AGILENT 6890/7890 GC s and 5975 mass spectrometers

**REQUIREMENTS**

*A Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline or relevant equivalent work experience
*Commitment to data quality
*Excellent computer skills including MS Excel
*Agilent is a plus
*Ability to work with minimum supervision
*High degree of flexibility, initiative and strong teamwork skills are a requirement
