**Chemist, Marlborough, MA**

**12+ Month Contract via Kelly Services**

Perform instrumental and chemical analysis of developmental materials supporting R D, Engineering Sciences, Pilot Plant, Model Shop, and Manufacturing areas. The position requires strict attention to detail, organizational ability, good communication skills, and motivation. The ability to quickly learn how to use a variety of different analytical instruments and associated software, as well as to take direction from others, are important aspects of this job.

**Responsibilities Perform routine analytical testing of a variety of samples:**

+ Developmental R D materials, raw materials, in-process samples, finished products
+ Conduct accurate preparation of samples and standards weighing, diluting, etc. for trace quantitative analysis
+ Utilize a variety of analytical instruments and associated software as assigned
+ Conduct method validation under the direction of Senior Analytical Team members
+ Identify problems during analysis and take action to rectify
+ Report and document analytical results utilizing the Analytical Services Request database
+ Communicate and discuss analytical results via other media as needed verbal, electronic
+ Work with senior members of the Analytical Services Team on short and long term projects as directed
+ Order laboratory supplies as needed
+ Conduct lab work in an efficient, organized, and safe manner
+ Comply with all site safety policies and procedures, participate in site safety meetings

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
+ Minimum 1-year experience in an instrumental analytical testing lab
+ Skilled at handling and accurate preparation of samples for trace chemical and elemental analysis
+ Experienced in chromatographic separation principles, techniques, and instrumentation GC, GPC, IC, LC
+ Experience with traditional chemical, molecular, and physical analysis tools titrations, FTIR Mechanical ability and ability to perform routine instrument maintenance
+ Accurate handling of data and editing of documents
+ Data analysis skills including basic statistical tools such as control charting and use of Microsoft Excel templates, PowerPoint, and Word
+ Motivated and hard-working, able to interface with a variety of positions and functions
**Important information:** This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch. Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
