Location: Midland, MI, 48640, USA

Description This position is within the Analytical Technology Center – Manage Product Quality, which provides analytical support to the manufacturing facilities in Michigan Operations. The successful candidate will support manufacturing analytical lab operations, which includes non-routine testing, calibration, and maintenance of all lab equipment. This position provides exposure to a variety of instrumentation and analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, FTIR, titration, pH, particle size distribution, Karl Fisher moisture analysis, etc.

This position also requires some off hours and some weekend support on-call support.

**Key responsibilities include:**


+ Work in a safe manner in accordance with plant and site EH&S policies
+ Perform non-routine and special project analyses as necessary
+ Ensure documentation and analysis is in compliance with identified quality systems
+ Provide plant support for maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of analytical equipment
+ Provide operator training and develop procedures
+ Participate on a cross functional team to support business or organizational needs
+ Participate in Root Cause Analysis as necessary
+ Provide project support as directed by the Business Analytical Leader or Analytical Sciences
+ Conduct instrument qualification as needed
+ Follow site, building and function safety and environmental policies and procedures.
+ Able to lift 50 lbs.
+ Ergonomic requirements involve frequent sitting or standing for extended durations and repetitive tasks.
Minimum Requirements


+ Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Scientific Discipline. Course work in Chemistry, Biology or a related subject that develops analytical testing and introduction to instrumentation
+ analytical testing experience in any of the following areas a plus: HPLC, GC, FTIR, titration, pH, particle size distribution, Karl Fisher moisture analysis etc.
+ No experience required but lab experience highly preferred
+ This is a long term contract opportunity
+ Pay starts at 18/hour and up; will be based on experience.
