Description and Requirements


The Client Engagement Manager is responsible for engaging with prospects and customers to generate new and expansion sales opportunities through qualification of inbound leads and cold outreach. In this role, they will work closely with a Business Development team, Subject Matter Experts, and related WCG employees to connect customers with sales representatives to facilitate the sales process. The Client Engagement Manager will maintain and be expected to consistently meet monthly and quarterly lead conversion goals and bookings targets.

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required


  • Minimum of one year of experience in sales or operations, preferably with a background in marketing, customer relationship management, inside sales and/or life sciences
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design and drug development desired
  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Office, Salesforce, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Fundamental understanding of basic financial concepts.
  • Record of accomplishment in quality of account relationships
  • Demonstration of the following competencies: results orientation, customer focus, active listening skills, verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, presentation skills, organization agility, business acumen, interpersonal savvy, ethics and values

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • By working with Marketing and using various inbound/outbound marketing programs and campaigns, generate qualified prospects through excellent lead follow-up, mining, and nurturing.
  • Manage lead pipelines with persistent focus to obtain, drive, and win business within service lines.
  • Be the front line for all incoming leads, working with a structured outreach approach to qualify leads and support the sales team to convert leads to opportunities.
  • Utilize internal and external data resources to conduct tactical research on organizations and contacts to help drive quantity of new contacts and subsequent sales opportunities.
  • Utilize internal resources to accurately and effectively track activity and update lead, account, and opportunity information as appropriate.
  • Meet organizational goals with exceptional time management skills.
  • Promote exceptional teamwork to achieve sales growth and bookings targets.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the organization's products and services and build interest by understanding the needs of the customer and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
