We are currently seeking a Clinical Advisor with Protocol Review experience to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

TASKS: The contractor shall:

+ Oversees the review of clinical protocols by the Prevention Science Review Committee (PSRC) and the Clinical Science Review Committee (CSRC) prior to study implementation.

+ Work closely with the PSRC and CSRC coordinators in all aspects of committee operations, including scheduling review meetings and communicating with the protocol Principal Investigator (PI).

+ Work within the organization as well as with collaborating organizations to identify acceptable reviewers for joint protocols.

+ Assign primary protocol reviewers.

+ Possess familiarity of all protocols scheduled for review.

+ Chair the review meetings and ensure that each protocol receives an appropriate and fair review.

+ Ensure that reviewers are provided with adequate opportunities to present their major critiques.

+ Elicit final recommendations and decisions on dispensation at the end of each review.

+ Review and edit the contractors draft of the letter containing reviewer comments, ensuring that major and minor comments are appropriately identified and clearly presented, and coordinating with those who provide comments until a final letter is achieved.

+ Provide scientific and technical assistance and consultation.

+ Coordinate with the responsible program to determine the need for protocol review when guidelines are not directly applicable.

+ Request supplemental material from protocol PIs as needed.

+ Periodically review standard operating procedures and propose changes to improve the efficiency and quality of reviews

+ Participate in internal audits that pertain to CSRC/PSRC procedures and documentation.

+ Serve as the Point of Contact for CSRC/PSRC documents, as needed, to fulfill regulatory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS: The contractor must have:

+ Bachelors degree in Life Sciences or other related discipline.

+ Three (3) years of experience in a related field.

+ Knowledge of clinical protocols and medical terminology.

+ Familiarity with IRB requirements.

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
