**Job Summary**



Under the direction of the Clinical Informaticist Lead, the Clinical informatics Specialist will support providers and other care team members ensuring that clinical information systems are functioning properly and continually looking for ways to make improvements to these systems. The Specialist will be responsible for educating staff members on how to effectively use clinical systems, assist with report writing and running, on-going clinical training, and assist with technical issues.



**Responsibilities**



Acts as the interdepartmental interface between departments.



Defines, interprets, documents, and prioritizes IT requirements of organization in collaboration with management and users.



Assists the team in identifying functional gaps in software applications and hardware.



Prepares operational/ functional requirement documents.



Assists with identifying and developing management information reports.



Represents home care\hospice on all teams for projects that may have impact on Home Care technology.



Participates in orientation of new staff to hardware and software application needed for individual job functions.



Serves as the resource and support to staff for IS/ IT issues.



Assists the helpdesk with emails/phones calls around general technical issues related to hardware and software and as needed.



Creating training documentation and videos for staffs reference to assist in eliminating ongoing issues.



Support Core Microsoft applications and services with a focus on Office 365 applications and communication.



Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations and guidelines in accordance with company policy. Follows all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization.





**Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications**



Working knowledge of clinical documentation best practice, resource management, IT support, and report writing utilizing Business Intelligence Software.



Strong Microsoft Excel working knowledge. Demonstrated ability to achieve results on an operational level.



EMR experience: MyUnity preferred



Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.



Minimum of five years' experience in information systems required with three years' experience in home health and/or hospice required.



Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and activities on a routine basis with minimal supervision.



Ability to manage a variety of tasks and prioritize individual workload responsibilities.



Ability to learn additional software applications.



Ability to work with strict confidentiality requirements, as well as utilize good judgement in the preparation and distribution of confidential information.





Bachelor's degree in information systems, business management, engineering, or comparable experience preferred.



**Special Requirements**



Ability to professionally handle responsibilities of deadlines and pressures. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong critical thinking and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to learn interaction with computer hardware and software programs. Operation of required equipment. Ability to perform proper body mechanics. Current California drivers license and car insurance. Reliable vehicle. Ability to read maps.
