**Clinical R&D Laboratory Technologist (Contract-to-Perm): Asheville, NC**


Kelly Scientific is seeking ambitious and qualified **Clinical Scientists with a B.S. graduates with a degree in Chemistry or Biology** to join one of our most inclusionary and trusted Molecular Diagnostic clients in **Asheville, NC** for a **6-month contract-to-hire permanent position as a Clinical R&D Lab Technologist** ! **_*** TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED for 2-3 weeks on first shift_**




* **MUST HAVE(S)*:**




+ Bachelors Degree in Biological or Chemical Science from an accredited institution, a degree in Medical Technology or a MLT Certification.

+ **Candidates** **_MUST_** **have a minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting.**

+ Previous experience with HPLC, GC/MS, ICP-MS, Molecular, and ELISA assays desirable. Familiar with graphing and statistical functions.

+ Previous experience with research and the validation of clinical laboratory assays desirable.

+ 16 credit hours in Biology AND 16 credit hours in Chemistry

+ Ability to produce copies of transcripts & diploma for verification




**Position Summary:**



The Development Technologist is responsible for the development and validation of new and current tests under the direction of the Development Manager, Lab Directors, and Assistant Lab Director.





**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**




+ Maintain familiarity with validation requirements of regulating agencies.

+ Design and carry out experiments for validation of tests.

+ Collect, analyze and document data.

+ Assemble validation summary.

+ Write SOPs on newly validated tests for operations.

+ Train laboratory staff when new test is moved from R&D into the laboratory department.

+ Assist lab operations on troubleshooting of assays and instruments

+ Applies Quality Principles to their work.

+ Achieve training goals as established by Human Resources.

+ Read and understand the departments procedure manual.

+ Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations.

+ Works closely with other Development Technologists, Lab Directors, Lab Managers, Lab Supervisors, VP Laboratory Operations, all lab personnel and QA department.





**Qualifications** :




+ Organizational, communication and problem solving skills are most important.

+ Attention to detail is a must.

+ The individual must be open to feedback and be able to adjust quickly to changing priorities as dictated by the Development Manager and Lab Directors.

+ The candidate must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently.

**Education and/or Experience:**



This position requires a Bachelors degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution. Candidates must have a minimum of two years experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Previous experience with research and the validation of clinical laboratory assays desirable. Previous experience with HPLC, GC/MS, ICP-MS, Molecular, and ELISA assays desirable. Familiar with graphing and statistical functions.
