GuideStar is seeking a results-driven consultative sales professional with experience in the clinical research industry to actively seek out and engage client prospects.  The position will be responsible for selling GuideStar’s suite of services, which are designed to optimize a clinical trials program in healthcare settings.

Healthcare providers active in clinical research often seek opportunities for growth and efficiencies.  GuideStar works with those providers to guide them in structure, as well as provide administrative support functions necessary to conduct clinical trials.  The consultative sales professional will listen to the specific goals of potential clients and offer solutions to help optimize the potential client’s research activity.  This position is viewed as one that can identify the core of a research operation’s issues and recommend the most appropriate strategic solutions.

With nearly a decade of being in business, GuideStar has experienced steady growth, with clients across the United States.  The sales position will be responsible for expanding the client list and boosting sales.

The corporate office is located in Deerfield, IL, and the operations center is in an executive building in the heart of New Orleans.  Travel to the operations center will be required several times a year. 


  • Meet with potential clients to identify needs and goals
  • Prepare and deliver presentations specifically addressing the potential client’s needs and goals
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business relationships
  • Reach out to client leads through cold calling, networking and social media
  • Participate on behalf of the company in exhibiting at industry conferences
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes on schedule
  • Coordinate sales efforts with other departments, as necessary
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, issues, competitive analysis and potential for new services



  • Proven experience in sales
  • Intimate understanding of the clinical research industry
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office software suite
  • Skilled at creating effective Power Point presentations
  • Experience with a contact management database
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Honesty and a good sense of humor
  • Ability to travel to meet with potential clients (an estimated 50%) and to the operations center in New Orleans
