Description

Coordinates and organizes clinical studies and/or trials. Drafts and/or evaluates protocols, policies and procedures regarding research projects and studies. Maintains pertinent records and documentation. May follow research participants or patients from recruitment through treatment, discharge and follow-up. May be responsible for collecting, recording, and preparing data for publication. Coordinates with the Office of Grants and Contract Administration and Institutional Review Board. May perform general nursing/clinical duties.

Under general supervision, performs duties related to initiating and implementing clinical research projects. Ensures adherence to appropriate protocols in the recruitment, screening, enrollment, treatment and retention of study patients/participants/volunteers.

Initiate and maintain regulatory activities associated with research protocols such as IRB submissions and renewals Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) contracts, FDA, regulations, etc. Review and monitor reports received from internal & external clinical study sites, and sponsors. Communicate with pharmaceutical companies regarding clinical trials/projects. When applicable follow accepted clinical practice and the dictates of the research protocol, performs and/or assists with clinical procedures as necessary.

Recruit, schedule, and follow up on research patients/participants/volunteers and monitor compliance to protocol requirements. Collects, organizes, enters and maintains data as required. Respond to the unique needs of all patients/participants/volunteers ages pediatric through geriatric.

Managing clinicians and students, data management of research activities. Scheduling subjects, communicating with personnel, sponsors, PIs, and subjects. Collecting and shipping samples, ordering supplies

(Annual Salary:   $47,486.40  -  $74,484.80)

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

The ideal candidate should have experience with data entry, patient care, drawing blood (phlebotomy), screening charts, and chart review. Nursing experience/degree highly desirable, but not required.
