Exempt position Shift: 1st shift – 7:00am-4:00pm

A worldwide leader in the contract design and manufacture of implants, instruments and innovative technologies for the orthopedic, dental and cardiovascular markets is seeking a CNC Operator for our Oregon Operation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Under general direction, performs all necessary duties to maintain, create, change, and update CNC programs for all CNC machining equipment, using CAD & CNC programming software (i.e. MasterCam, SolidWorks, Pro E etc.) to facilitate the machining of orthopedic implants, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Create, Modify and Maintain from customer supplied CAD Models and prints CNC Programs, fixturing and tooling specifications to support implant finishing. Create/modify programs to remove stock from implants consistent with customer blueprints using 3, 4,or 5 axis mills, 3 axis grinders, and multispindle machining centers. Monitor tooling quality and life assessments and make recommendations for improvement. Issue corrective actions to Quality to address inspection questions related to machining. Provide input into competitive cost to manufacture products.

Communicate and maintain project management of programming activities to support throughput. Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product. Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the Engineering Manager or Facilities Manager as appropriate. Follow designated safety rules and regulations. Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives. Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Manager.

Qualifications: At least 5 years’ experience using machines, fixturing, tooling, operation, inspection and delivery of machined implants to a medical OEM or supplier or similar experience in machining and finishing investment castings for aerospace, IGT or tooling manufacture outside of the medical industry.

Ability to perform programing of CNC mills, grinders, lathes and robots. Strong Analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to use MasterCam, Haas GL software. Strong knowledge of GD&T; trigonometry/geometry, speeds and feeds, cutter clearances and offsets. Good oral and written communication skills. CoCr Alloy experience preferred. SolidWorks, Pro E experience preferred. CMM programming experience in PC Dimis a plus. Use of PPE. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
