This communications co-op position offers a current university student a chance to collaboratively concept and execute on a campaign that energizes over 3,000 employees as they embark upon the next mile of the World Class Manufacturing journey as it strives to be the first Whirlpool plant in the United States to achieve Bronze-level certification.


The co-op position emphasizes content and creative strategy and execution to drive a multi-platform engagement campaign for over 3,000 employees across a three-shift operation at Whirlpools Clyde Operations. The campaign will highlight our people and their our innovations over a multi-year World Class Manufacturing journey leveraging the current Road to Bronze strategy.


This role will work directly with a team of strategic communications professionals at the plant to create a world-class employee experience, support business objectives, and has the potential for external amplification. This role is a part of a larger network of communicators who serve our manufacturing plants across the U.S., as well as a greater Whirlpool global communications team, which includes Corporate Reputation, Business Communications, and Global Product Organization Communications.


What You Will Do


+ Work alongside the Whirlpool Communications Manager, North American Region, the Whirlpool Clyde Operations Communications Assistant, and the Whirlpool Clyde Communications Administrative Assistant to design and execute on a robust campaign strategy to deliver clear, engaging communications and top-notch storytelling across multiple digital, visual, face-to-face and print touchpoints.


+ In collaboration with the Clyde communications team, create internal multimedia communications campaign materials - with emphasis on video, infographic, visual, content mix - that connect across all communications platforms including intranet, cloud-based video bulletin board systems, display, events, and print.

+ Set and achieve digital communications goals as part of Whirlpool Clyde Operations business objectives related to -- but not limited to -- people engagement, inclusion and diversity, community impact, environment and sustainability, safety, and quality.

+ Collect data to measure ongoing communications and campaign effectiveness. Use analysis to adapt content to employee needs.

+ Collaborate with and project manage internal and external design, print and marketing vendors.

+ Support campaign-related events with communications to build awareness, amplify the event.


+ Maintain confidentiality of all community and business affairs.

+ Be available to work occasional extended hours on any shift, if needed.


Skills needed:

+ Evidence of work on internal or external campaigns


+ Understanding of the buyers journey and how the marketing funnel applies to an internal audience

+ Passion for understanding the audience

+ Experience with digital campaigns with proven results

+ Ability to maximize social media and marketing mehtods for internal audiences

+ Digital-first mindset with an understanding of the importance of targeted face-to-face events and communications


+ Outside of the box thinking

Education


+ Pursuit of a Communications, Social Media, Graphic Design, Video, Marketing, or related degree is preferred
