**Important information:** This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

**Job Summary:**

As a Manufacturing Engineer, the employee will be leading multiple projects which may deal with design/process change of medical device components.

He/she must have experience on working with cross functional teams and identifies and coordinates process changes activities as part of the project.

**Duties & Responsibilities:**

Complete technical projects with suppliers to improve supplier process capacity, supplier process capability, supplier process maintainability, instrument assembly capability, and instrument output performance.

Determine tooling and spare requirements to maintain component supply.

Provide technical support for the approval/ validation of changes/ improvements in supplier processes.

Provide technical support for the resolution of component quality issues.

Potentially coordinate RMI/CAD/BOM actives.

Produce component cost comparisons and analyze alternative manufacturing methods for cost improvement projects (CIP’S).

Sustain supply chain continuity by qualifying and validating supplier tooling as per component approval procedures.

Ensures closure to component non-conformance issues with timely corrective action submission and approval of suppliers control plans.

Specifying specifications to suppliers on what to meet and deliverables to validate components.

Evaluate supplier data for First Article Inspections, Capability Studies Cpk = 1.33, DOE, Process Map, PFMEA, Control Plan, and approve such.

Evaluate discrepancies in the supplier submitted documents and coordinate action plan with R&D, Quality, and Sourcing plant manufacturing engineer. Responsible to driving action plan to completion.

Coordinate with plant partner or self-drive the PPQ protocol for functional assembly and test in Juarez plant or any DV required testing in Irwindale.

Write the Engineering Change Order, execute requirements per SME’s, and coordinate any data for Regulatory submission if required.

Close the ECO making appropriate BOM system changes and notifying Sourcing and Planning of status during execution.

Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.

Performs other duties assigned as needed.

**Qualifications:**

A BS degree in relevant engineering discipline

Four to six years of related engineering experience

Has significant complex level engineering experience.

Financial background experience in the field of Operations would be beneficial.

Experience in the medical device industry would be an asset.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Certifications/Licenses:**

Must possess more than a basic understanding of engineering theoretical fundamentals and experimental techniques.

Strong English communication skills, written and oral.

Knowledge of drafting software systems such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.

Knowledge of statistical software packages such as Minitab a plus.

Project Management skills a plus.

Process Excellence tools such as Lean and Six Sigma certification a plus.
